THE CONSCIENCE OF TODAY'S SOCIETY IS LARGELY ANOMALOUS - Dr Ugo Ezeribe

 

Have you ever reviewed a few years ago in contrast to the society of today? You could easily draw a very huge difference and spot great discrepancies of overwhelming discordance which has become progressively conspicuos. Unfortunately, the direction of this trend is towards the negative.

Integrity, Morality, Quality etc, are fast loosing priority. These values have been overtaken by Immorality, Insanity, Profanity etc. No Sector is exonerated. The most hurting part of the entire trend is that we are all silently cocurring victims and accomplices of these obnoxious trend.

                          Philanthropy: 

Charity and alms giving has become a political project. Society and community interest have become promotional means of gaining attention. Nothing goes for nothing has been perfected as our daily norm. Nobody gives for the sole purpose of Service to Humanity. Giving is done with ulterior motives and innate intent.

 Business: 

Fake drugs are mass produced and dumped in the open market irrespective of who consumes it. Importers make particular demand for substandard products to meet their financial consideration and desired profit margin. Most of what is written on the container is far from the quality of the content. There is almost no business deal completed in our society today without that the demand for "My Share".

                              Education:

 Scores and grades are given undeservedly to unqualified students who meet the financial or sexual demands of the Lecturers irrespective of the eventual consequences denying the uncompromising few. The result is the high quality of junk graduates populating the over flooded labor market without gross incompetence and discordant performance.

                                Health:

Once I sat beside a Doctor who was using Google to trace the required medications for the symptoms of a patient. If you think that you are safe in the hands of our medical practitioners, you better rethink.

Patients are diagonised in General hospitals and referred to Private hospitals to be attended by the same medical personnel from the same Government hospitals thereby diverting government funds to Private pockets.

A recently apprehended money baron confessed to have manufactured fake baby's food in the past 20 years. Many Innocent babies died from these concoction.

A mid wife at one of the foremost teaching hospitals confessed to have swapped over 3456 babies for fun over her 30 years of Service.

Where is our Conscience?

 

Civil Service: 

I can't tell who is hurting who but either the Government, the Civil Service or both must consider a rejig. In some places, work is once a week, once a month, once a year or sometimes non existent yet with continuous demand for pay. The take home is really not enough to take anyone home based on the status of our currency and it's earning power with respect to the prevailing market prices. 

                            Politics:This is one porous system that has no standard. It is regulated by the conscience of the power brokers. Appointment and selections are not based on competence, capability or Qualifications, it is sorely the leader's perogative with loyalty playing a huge role. The summary of it is assessments, evaluations and penalties will hardly apply once you are in the good books of the Juggernauts.

                                Religion:

This should be a Halloween quarter but sadly it has become a huge haven of swindlers. People have gone as far as selling tickets to heaven. Sermons are twisted to suit the rich and mighty. Honors are given to the highest bidder. People have been defiled on the altar, many have been defrauded in Jesus Name, many have lost their lives while seeking positions ic Church. Attendance at Church for Sunday Service is mostly a show of clothes or cars, a routine event that holds every Sundays, a Meetup place for relationship matters, etc. Many other frivolous reasons exists is their numbers with only a very few attending for the right reasons.

On the overall, the conscience of the Society today is depraved, immoral, redundant, unprogressive, inconsiderate, repugnant, repulsive, offensive, disquieting. Existing with a different view in these heterogeneous compositions of these anomalies is largely considered as an anathema.
