Empathy is a rare quality of the regular today's politician. Many may be the reasons or excuses. But one man stands exempted from this lot. Col. Austin Akobundu (Rtd). Here is indeed a man with a Heart of gold.

Akobundu console with the family of Olugele of Mbubo Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa on the death of their mother, wife, sister and grand mother who died at the age of 75 and was laid to rest on the 2nd of September, 2022.

The late mama hails from Nchara Otoro, of Oloko clan in Ikwuano LGA. She is of the family of the great Arungwas of Nchara formerly Otoro and now Etoruo. The retired but not tired Colonel extolled the virtues of the late woman as he recounted her exploits while in life.

Beyond just the courtesy of the regular condolence, is a heart that took out pains and time to mourn and console his people in their mourning despite his busy schedule.

This is one of the many qualities of the National Organizing Secretary of the PDP that has endeared him to many persons over the years. Irrespective of his military background amidst his exposure and exploits in the political front, his unique and irrepressible heart of gold still shines through.

The unique blend of Empathy, Humanness and proactivity occuring effortlessly cum productively in this tripartite union can only be found in Col Austin Akobundu, a man indeed with a heart of Gold.
