Against the negatively painted image of an unapproachable autocrat, Col Austin Akobundu has disproved such insinuations as he has engaged all categories of persons irrespective of status.
Recently, Youth group in the name of CAYSUN flagged off a special support for his candidacy while he also featured prominently at the International Youth Day where as the Chairman of the occasion, he was seen, interacting with Abia Youths at all levels, admonishing them as well as forming partnership with them for the purpose of improved youth participation in governance and industry.
His recognition and award of a Chieftaincy title as APA-UKWU OHUHU by the OHUHU Council of Traditional Rulers highlights another side of his personality and the across-boarder capacity of the previously awarded Dike ako la-mba by the Traditional Rulers Council of his homeland - Ikwuano. Among the elite, he stands head and shoulders above many. Truly a leader whose voice can be heard even in the large ocean of many great personalities.
Like him or hate him, it doesn't change the obvious sagacity that comes with his imperial disposition coupled with his inherent administrative brilliance, it will be difficult to match the candidacy of the retired but not tired Colonel. As history beckons to be made, we are privileged to witness the charismatic exponent of this unraveling ingenuity. A soft but powerful speaker. A man of few words but with great impact.
